Latin name: Helianthemum nummularium. Red Data Book species. Is an important plant for many insects such as being the main foodplant for the larva of the Northern Brown Argus butterfly (a UK Priority species) as well as a number of moths, a number of small beetles feed on the foliage and is an important pollen source for numerous bees. It is usually found on dry warm alkaline south-facing slopes in meadow grasslands.

A predatory species of bug found along edges of streams and ditches. Four of these bugs were found in muddy area on edge of burn running across this threatened site.
