Alan Melville (5 December) doubts my suggestions for parliamentary action on a Cairngorms national park. Such suggestions are the aggrieved public’s only means left, other than at the next election.

Today I heard that MSPs will get an opportunity to vote on this, but are allowed only 15 minutes for debate, another affront.

Westminster government provides English parks with full planning powers and no political interference over boundaries. We would have been better off without a Scottish parliament.
